Watch live: Monetary Policy Committee press conference

The Bank of England announced an expected interest rate hike of 25 basis points on August 3 while 8 members of the monetary policy committee voted in favour of the hike and signalled that the rates may stay high for some time.

At 12:30 there will be the MPC’s press conference and they discuss their decision to hike and answer questions from the press as well.
