South Korea, Italy sign MOUs on next-generation industries, space -Yoon’s office

South Korea and Italy on Wednesday signed memorandums of understanding (MOUs) on expanding cooperation in the next-generation industries as well as on space and science sectors, South Korea’s presidential office said.

The signing ceremony took place as Italian President Sergio Mattarella visited Seoul for talks with South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol during which they agreed to cooperate on advanced technologies including in the artificial intelligence, space and hydrogen sectors, Yoon said.

“The MOU on South Korea-Italy industrial cooperation signed today will serve as a basis to push for next-generation industrial cooperation between the two countries,” Yoon said at a joint press conference.

The two leaders also agreed to work together on tackling global and regional issues, including on North Korea, Yoon said.
