Ryanair loses challenges against Alitalia state aid

A European Union court on Wednesday said the state aid Alitalia received during the COVID-19 pandemic, which led to a standstill of air travel, was compatible with EU’s internal market, meaning rival airline Ryanair (LON:0RYA) has lost its challenge against this aid.
